Remember The Golden Rule

Friendship is about extending your love, appreciation, and respect to another person. When Christian friends come together, they see themselves in the other person. This mentality allows you to treat the needs of other people as your own. This way, you treat them as you want to be treated, and they will do the same in return.

Jesus challenges us in the Sermon in the Mount to extend our kind treatment of others to go far beyond our family and friends. He intended for us to be kind to all people. He said, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

This is a difficult challenge but one we need to accept. We call this the “Golden Rule.” The Lord calls us to think about how we want to be treated. Then, treat people that way. Don’t turn to vengeance, hate, prejudice or conflict try kindness. Choose to be like Jesus. #GTKYB #Friendship #BibleVerse #GoldenRule
