LIVING A DISCIPLINED LIFE IS NEVER EASY

Time is often wasted because we do not have the discipline to follow our convictions. The Lord has settled many of our priorities in His word. We do not have to decide whether to go to worship, minister to our family or serve others. The importance of these has already been underscored in the Scriptures. Once we base our convictions on God’s Word, we rest of our priorities will come into place.

Think about the life of Jesus. He lived 33 years but 30 of those years were spent growing up and being in a carpenter’s workshop. That was His life until the day He laid down His hammer and chisel to begin shaping lives into the image of His Father. Yet that part of His life lasted only 3 years. During that incredibly short period of time He did all the Father asked of Him. Consider John 6:39; 17:5; 19:30.

Jesus had the pressure of saving a sinful world and only three years in which to prepare his disciples. How did he do it? What was His secret? Read Mark 1:35; 6:46; and Luke 9:18.

The key for Jesus was spending time alone with the Father. His life was measured to divine tempo- even in the swirl of a crowd screaming for His crucifixion. The wisest thing we can do to relieve the pressure of time is to spend time alone with the Lord of Heaven. We will give an account one day of how we invested our time on earth. Remember what is said in Luke 12:15-21. We will all spend eternity in one of two places- heaven or hell (Matthew 25:46).

If you have not made the right decision to spend eternity with Christ you are encouraged to do so now. Choose Christ Now! Only then will time take on real meaning. “Only one life, twill soon be past, Only the things that are done for Jesus will last.” If we can help you with your decision to follow Jesus and be baptized into Christ for the remission of your sins, please reach out to us! gettingtoknowyourbible@gmail.com
