The late J. T. Marlin, a dear friend and faithful gospel preacher, once said, “We are heirs of the past, stewards of the present, and guard-ians of the future.” As an elder of the Lord’s church, brother Marlin’s words have spe-cial meaning to me. For years I have heard it said, “We are never more than one generation away from apostasy.” This is best illustrated by a passage in the book of Judges. “And also all that generation were gath-ered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel” (Judges 2:10).
Where will the Lord’s church be a generation from now? History has a way of repeating itself. What has happened in the past can hap-pen again. There has never been a greater need to teach the principle of restoring the New Testament church. Those who have gone before us proclaiming the “Back To The Bible” plea are to never be forgotten.
We need the wisdom to look ahead and teach the present genera-tion the truth of the gospel of Christ. The restoration plea is relevant in the twenty-first century.
For the next few weeks we will ponder this thought... "What About The Next Generation? Are We Leaving A Legacy?" One way we can leave a legacy is to study our Bible! You can sign up for a FREE Bible Course. Also, you can watch GTKYB. In fact, if you have missed a program, or want to watch previous live broadcasts, please go to our YouTube page. Our goal is to encourage you to get to know your Bible. Please like, subscribe and share!
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
